The Red Meat Advisory Council (RMAC) has today (Monday 18 April 2017) called for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Australian beef industry leaders to contribute to driving the next phase of the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework (ABSF).

Under the baseline ABSF Report, published on 6 April 2017, a Sustainability Steering Group is required to provide leadership to the next phase of the ABSF.

RMAC are seeking individuals with the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven leader in Australia beef and livestock production across the value chain or sector specific (e.g. on farm, feedlot, manufacturing, exports)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate at a board or advisory group level to deliver transformative outcomes
  • Expertise or significant ongoing interest in improvement in animal welfare, environmental management or business management (financial and human resources) with a beef industry or food production focus
  • A strong understanding of changing beef consumers demands and future drivers for growth for the industry
  • Time to contribute to at least four face to face meetings per year

Travel, expenses and a sitting fee are offered to successful candidates.
