RMAC Ltd is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee that is supported by the Articles of Association and the Red Meat MOU (MOU).

Our operations are funded by the Red Meat Industry Fund under the arrangements in the Red Meat MOU.

The Red Meat MOU

The Red Meat MOU is an industry-government partnership document between RMAC Members & RMAC Steakholders.

RMAC is the custodian of the Red Meat MOU.

The Red Meat Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) sets out the agreed industry arrangements for:

  • Policy development & advocacy
  • Crisis management
  • Industry engagement
  • Research and marketing activities
  • Engagement framework between RMAC Members and Steakholders
  • Governance arrangements for the Red Meat Industry Fund

The Red Meat MOU was established in 1998 and has been updated four times.

The Red Meat Industry Fund

The Red Meat Industry Fund was created by the Commonwealth Government in 1998 using unallocated levies from beef, sheepmeat & goatmeat producers and processors.

The Red Meat Industry Fund is designed to provide:

  • Continued investment in RMAC Members and RMAC operations
  • Assist in managing red meat & livestock industry issues.

The Board of RMAC are responsible for managing the investment and distribution for the Red Meat Industry Fund.
